About

too_basicc is a digital audio-visual and modular synthesis project based in Beirut, Lebanon. Working across sound, video synthesis, installation, live performance and DJ sets, too_basicc builds music and image from the ground up in VCV Rack, sculpting sounds from basic waveforms and letting genres collide before they can settle.

The work returns again and again to displacement, memory and resistance: Arab pop divas distorted and reclaimed, the ghorba of the diaspora, and reverse immigration, the return to one's land as a blow against colonialism. It has been shown and performed at Savvy in Berlin, DOC! in Paris, e-flux in New York, Mångkulturellt centrum and Södra Teatern in Stockholm, and in Gothenburg.

In 2026, too_basicc released three albums in quick succession: العودة, (Per/Con)formative Linearity and عهد الأصدقاء. They move from abrasive industrial synthesis through disrupted genre forms to deconstructed club music and hyperpop.
